Meet Shelly Klimusko
I have been in the field of banking since 1969. I began working in operations for Crocker Bank, which is now Wells Fargo. And later went into the loan officer training program in 1975 and subsequently into management of a Personal Financial Center for the bank. By 1981, I was a manager for Great Western Savings (now Washington Mutual) in credit approval and collections at their Northridge headquarters. I later managed a loan origination hub for Atlantic Financial Savings Bank (now First Republic Bank). I obtained my California Department of Real Estate license in 1985, which allowed me to start working through a mortgage broker. I no longer had to stay within the confines of a bank. I could now provide my clients with any type of loan requested at much more competitive interest rates and terms, as I was no longer restricted to the loan products of the bank I was employed by. I could now shop hundreds of banks rates and programs for my clients and could also help my clients sell their homes and find a new home to better suit their needs. This was a much better fit for me and I have been delivering exceptional service and rates to my many loyal customers ever since!
I am certified as an Estate Planner and have found the additional knowledge and insight gained from my work in that area of finance has been very useful. It has helped me to better understand and guide my clients to achieve their goals of acquiring real estate and to put their financial ‘house’ in order by offering solid advice rather than short term fixes to long term issues.
I have been interviewed and quoted many times in the Los Angeles Times business section on real estate lending topics, have appeared as a guest on radio talk shows and interviewed on NBCTV news specials on matters involving real estate and mortgage lending practices.
I live in Santa Clarita, California and spend my personal time practicing yoga (Iyengar is my favorite!), constantly doing home improvement projects (don’t get me started on those HGTV home improvement shows!), cooking and taking gourmet cooking classes, gardening (need those herbs for cooking!), and playing with my 2 dogs.
